Printmaking with recycled styrofoam!

It's the greatest thing when another teacher brings you a box full of recycled treasures, such as clean styrofoam trays! Kids had a great time making prints today!

Kindergarten Corn Syrup Painting

It becomes difficult to take pictures during our really messy project days, but today I managed to get a couple of our kindergarteners painting with corn syrup and finishing with glitter.  The syrup dries shiny!  (I added a little dish soap to aid in cleanup).
Information about WOW piece number 3 came home in communicators last week with report cards.  Students in grades 1-4 should be working on either a toy or a game for the art show with support from home.  These pieces will be for our art show and must include a typed artist statement.  An artist statement includes the student's name, grade level, teacher, a little bit about what their artwork is, how it was made, their favorite part(s) and how they could make their piece even better.  WOW piece #3 is due April 27th for the art show on the 28th.  Please do not submit early as I have limited storage for pieces.  Parents were to have emailed me by last Monday if they were not able to work on these at home.  Please let me know ASAP if this is an issue so I can make arrangements to help.

Kindergarten students will be creating artwork for the art show in class.  If you are able to assist in set up and/or cleanup during the show, please send me an email.  Thank you always for your support!
